No. applicants / places
Does anyone know how many applicants there are per place at Queens?

Not sure, but if you're thinking of applying, you can sort of work out your chances using their point system.
You need AAAa at A Level. Then, last year (it can vary) I believe it was 33 points for an offer. They take your 9 best GCSEs, and give 4 points for A* and 3 points for an A. Then, they look at your UKCAT, and add a point for every section above average, and subtract a point for every section below average. (Max points is 40.)
Maybe you knew that anyway. Oh well lol

Not really that much from what i can gather. They want to see you're making an informed decision about medicine and that you are committed to it. No scoring system on the PS though so providing its OK, the main factor about whether u get an offer will be ur GCSE/UKCAT academic score.

For the last two years, Queens have made offers to candidates with >=34 points... I have this on e-mail.
Top 9 GCSEs:
A*=+4
A=+3
B=0
UKCAT sub-sections:
<600=-1
600=0
>600=+1
Although, going by this purely would indicate that they don't even look at your personal statement and that interviews are pointless?2010 entry:

That seems to be the general consensus across this forum, which is... Worrying.
My GCSE grades are only borderline, but my careers advisor has been telling me I have a shot at medical schools because I do a lot of extra stuff, like working with kids and charity work and stuff... But if all that means jack to Queens... :|Newcastle University - Conditional, AA - Firm
