The PLAB-1 exam is a mixture of clinical and medical sciences question. Your best bet is to practice loads and loads of EMQs (there are several PLAB books about - the one by Una Coles is very good). The GMC have now added a SBA (single best answer) MCQ to the exam which is similar to the USMLE style of exam - so practice your USMLE part 1 and part 2CK papers. The BMA website has a good e-library for subscribed members with the USMLE books on it.
