How to apply
You should apply online for a PLAB test place. Before you do, make sure you have read the notes in this factsheet and Advice to Candidates. Follow the links on the factsheet PLAB test dates and contacts to apply for a place online and to check your booking.
If you wish to apply for Part 1 of the PLAB test in the UK or Part 2 of the PLAB test and cannot apply online please contact us on +44 (0)161 923 6602 (outside the UK) or 0845 357 3456 (in the UK), or email us at registrationhelp@gmc-uk.org to request an application form.
If you wish to sit Part 1 of the PLAB test outside the UK and cannot apply online, download the application form below. Send the completed form and appropriate fee to us or to the relevant British Council office. Contact details for all British Council offices can be found on our website.

Alice, you always leave me gobsmacked - I think you must be about 163 years old because you have collected so much information! ... and then I don't feel like the oldest person here either!

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but this marvellous wealth of knowledge is not courtesy of my rather inadequate brain but is brought to you via the wonder that is the world wide web. I just get sick of people asking questions to which the answers can so easily be found through a simple search, email, phone call etc, so find the information myself. As you can see, the PLAB info took me all of four minutes to find, copy, paste and post - hardly much effort!
You'll be pleased to know that I am not in fact 163 years old and will be quite happy for you to retain your title as the oldest person here!.
