Ucas
Hello,
I would like to know how many references can you have on the UCAS form, and if the reference can be from a doctor?
Many thanks.

I applied five years ago, so my information might be out of date. I had two references on my form (but remember, both have to fit into the allotted space - you don't get any extra words, and you need to find space to put the name and contact details of any additional referees into the main reference area). One of my references was my tutor from my first degree, the second was a charge nurse on the ward I was working on at the time. Your doctor reference would presumably be more of a character reference (e.g. from a doctor you have shadowed)? If so, I would check with UCAS and the medical schools to which you are applying that this will be acceptable. My application got me interviews at 3 of the 4 medical schools I applied to, but I did phone UCAS at the time to check it was okay. They're very friendly from what I can recall!
