    reference for medicine

    Hi,

I will have to ask my lecturer for a reference for medicine. I just wanted to ask, if anyone knows what the guidelines for writing a medicine reference is.

Also, can anyone show me an example medicine reference, just so that I know how it should be written. I am applying as an individual, as I am a university graduate. So, I will get to see my reference, as it will be emailed to me directly.

Well I presume you have looked at the UCAS guide...

But I’ve not seen anything specifically for medical school.

Hi, there are some guidelines and specific formats they require from referees for UCAS form on their websites.
I was wondering, if you are asking an academic from the university you graduated from, do you need to apply via school/college or as an individual on ucas? (I hope this question makes sense!)

If you ask an academic from university, you must apply as an individual. You just have to get your referee to email you the reference, and you just copy and paste it into your ucas application form.

    Hi
If you go half way down the page, this is what St Andrews say a referee should include in your reference

The copying and pasting option is changing as from the 28th September whereupon, the applicant has to give details of their referee and then UCAS will be requesting the reference via email. This is to avoid the applicant seeing the reference.
