What Is The Point in Personal Statements?
I am unsure why we need to do personal statements? I would understand if medicine was an English or writing based course, however although a fair bit of writing is entailed, it is not the paramount focus throughout! So why do we need personal statements? Also is it possible to get over the 4000 character limit by having each new word starting with a capital letter but avoiding spaces LikeThis?

Maybe because there are thousands of applicants and they need to decide who is worth interviewing!

One of the skills being tested is communication so that suggests it should be written to a high standard. Selectors will discard applications where the personal statement is not easy to read.Applying 2010:
