Transfer between unis
Hi,
I got an offer from the University of east anglia (5 years )for medicine last year which i accepted. However, even though I am already studying medicine, I reapplied again this year through ucas for medicine because my first choice was to get a place at kings college london.
I havent told the unis about it but will they find out? is this allowed?

They will know you have applied again because of your UCAS ID number. I don't think your current medical school will look favourably on it nor will Kings. I'm not sure of your circumstances why you want to change but surely it would have been better to inform your current med school ??? Just a thought.

I think you'll find you're in violation of UCAS's terms and conditions. Also, they'll want to know what you're doing at the moment. If you lie at interview, you'll probably be exposed and if you tell the truth, they'll probably reject you outright. My advice would be to stay where you are and don't be so careless with your education.

I can only laugh at you.
Seeing as I must try and be helpful to avoid the hate, King's does accept two people a year to transfer into the course. Try that!

It isn't against UCAS regulations to apply again the following year if you already are at uni many people do.
It is NOT allowed if you hold a deferred place for the same year that you are applying:
i.e. have a deferred place for 2009 entry and have applied again this year for 2009 entry.
Why don't you call Kings and ask them about transfer? I am sure most will have to have a policy on that point.
I think the application to transfer will have to have exceptional circumstances to be considered.

I've met a good few medics who applied to a 5 year in their first or second year of uni without finishing their degree.

Well frankly you are a muppet, but if its really that important to you, phone them up and ask about transferring.
Also make sure you absolutely nail all your exams to back this up.Second year medic, St-Andrews.
