yes.... for resit applicants, it can be that the universities want to see AAA instead of AAB.

Gud luck!

Hi guys, I'm reapplying as well but haven't read every previous page so apologies if im repeating a question here.....which unis are to be avoided by reapplicants, even those who did not get interviewed first time around?

well- it's not fair to say, "avoided". but, usually the ones you got an offer for, but didn't get accepted after grades. If you didn't get an interview, applying again can be good- it shows you're committed to medicine and haven't given up.

If, say I hadn't have made the grades this year; my offer was AAB from all my med schools- if I had have reapplyed to them (you can only reapply under extenuating circumstances) then I would need AAA. You can apply to other universities if you have missed ur grades. Like, if I had no "reason" to have missed my grades, I would have reapplied to different unis for medicine.

Give them a ring; it can't hurt- but as far as I know, that's how it works.

Gud Luck!

hey!
i got 4 rejections last year, and im reapplying for 2009 entry for medicine! ive got my ukcat on the 24th and im quite nervous as last year i got 590 which is why i think i got rejected :[
i got
A- A2 Bio, A- A2 Psych, B- A2 Chem ( 5 marks off!)
B- As german

and ive got 5A*s and 6As for my gcses

i hope that will be enough for unis, but i just wanted to ask how have you written ure ps, im taking a gap year and im really unsure on how to write it? do u just mention what u are going to do and then the rest of what uve done or?

also which unis like reapplicants? i think most unis accept reapplicants if not all but...

thanks any help is much appreciated

If you`re a re-applicant i.e. applying after A-levels with your AAB/AAA then your position will be strengthened at all universities compared to last year. The only places that you should avoid are places where you dont satisfy other criteria such as UKCAT or GCSE requirements, but that is general advice and nothing to do with being a reapplicant.

On the other hand, if you are a resit applicant i.e. applying after A-levels while resitting some modules then its a whole other kettle of fish as they say. Then, you are restricted to a very small pool of unis (Liverpool, Keele, Peninsula, BSMS, Barts and perhaps one or two others- I dont know if this list is correct) unless you have exenuating circumstances. You will not be even considered at others.
