What's everybody got for their fifth choice???

Hey people...the deadline is approaching.

What is everyone putting for their fifth choice and at which university?

Also i was wondering if the fifth choice university will pay attention to the personal stataement seeming as it's written for medical schoool?

The idea of recieving an offer from the fifth university seems absurd...doesn't it?

Thanks for the help

Well if its for biomedical science, or some other science degree less competitive than medicine, they will accept that med was your first choice and still understand your passion for science and all that crap.

So there's a fairly good chance...i think quite a lot of people get 5th offers.

Then again, if you're me, and you're putting one down as a joke, then your chances are somewhat slim

I put down the forensic crime scene FD at Queen Mary, even though my PS reads as though I wouldn't consider anything other than medicine. Which is more than likely true. I'm pretty happy and content at my current job, so it's not like I have to study something else, it's just that I really want to be a doctor. That said, given the opportunity to try something else might be fun...

I'm using my 5th choice for Human Genetics at Nottingham. It was chosen pretty much at random, I've never even been to Nottingham or read much about the course. I guess I won't be doing that course anyway, even if it's the only offer I get, so it doesn't matter too much.

Hi,
I have a couple of questions and they seem to fit into this thread.
Do the individual universities see where else you have applied? Does it jeopardise your chances of an interview if you put something like radiography as your fifth choice? I already have a bioscience degree so won't be putting a fifth choice as an alternative route to medicine.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers

I'm almost certain the most any uni can see if if you have applied to another course at the same uni.

It used to be the case that some would reject you outright if you've applied to x other university, but that was deemed unfair (!) so it changed...

I know of an applicant on this forum who didn't get into medicine last time round and is now happily doing Radiography (postgrad course), if that's any help.

Is it safe to have your fifth choice at the same uni as your first choice for med ? Will the admissions reject you cos you have applied for two different courses (even though they both are science related)?
