Red face Firm and insurance -???

I have a bit of a dilemma! I have two offers AAB for both, but HYMS has specified an A in biology, whereas Manchester has no preference. I'm putting Manchester as my firm, but should I put HYMS as the insurance, just in case? For example if theres a problem with a form, or I get ABB and Manchester don't let me in and HYMS do? I just feel it's wrong to discard an offer I worked so hard for! Arghh someone help ! x

Theres no harm putting it as your insurance. Gives you an extra chance!

But then if it is my insurance I'll have to pay for Hep B, whereas at Manchester I won't need to, canjust get it when I'm there. Plus the only reason I'd put it down on the offchance that I get ABB instead of AAB which is a longshot anyway because I'm most likely getting an A in French!

I'll be putting down two of my offers, as I feel it's a waste not to. The grades so far are all AAB, but things like health forms etc are also part of my offers so it's only sensible to put one.

Does anyone know how likely med schools are to take you if you miss your grades? (Specifically King's, Barts and Manchester.)

i wuld guess that you wont get patient contact that involves blood anywhere near year one at hyms, but i culd be wrong. So i'm guessing that there will always be time to get the jabs sorted after results come out, unless you plan to join a blood letting society or volunteer/work as a phleb once you get there, Toobeebey.

unless they particualry say an offer depends on it, dont get it till you get your results, macca.

Do you know for definite that you have to pay for the Hep B? I think it depends on your NHS trust, but I just went to my doctors surgery and there was no mention of pay. They were happy to give it to me for free.

Same here, I'll be getting mine for free. Try another practice I say and yeah it seems quite worthhile putting both of them down. Couldn't hurt could it?
