The earlier you start thinking about medicine and what you have to present to admissions tutors the better. You may also find, as you write, that one paragraph could really be spiced up with a particular activity or extracurricular achievement. It's all too late if you come to write it up in October!

I'd advise the start of September, as too early you will just fiddle with it... But at this time you have to be focussed on it etc. Just don't leave it to the last minute... EVER!

the early bird gets the worm-but the second mouse gets the cheese.
i say plan, but dont go ott like mr david said so-a couple of paragraphs organising who you are and a couple of lines explaining why med balh blah should be it for now. concentrate on the extra-curriculars now.
