30 points?? (clearly showing I wasn't paying attention =p) Why so many? Surely it doesn't take that many q's to ascertain whether someone is confused or not?

Nav would you mind if we included some of your points in the SP ISCE booklet we are writing? We'll credit you of course! And I need to get you that orange juice I promised you way back in 2007 I think it was, you've helped with quite a few things now!

Oh and Nav got any tips for medications review? Apparently last year you guys weren't given much teaching on it?

We were not given any teaching on it at all!...its the only station i had trouble with last year but after receiving feedback heres what you need to do:
1) Make sure you write neatly, they assess your ability to write clearly and in a thought out manner. The best way to do this is to make a table as the patient you will be given is likely to have around 7 diff meds. SO make a table of the drug, dose, indication, any side effecs the pt may be experiencing and recommendations (made by you).
2) Remember to ask the patient about any allergies
Heres a full list of what you will be marked on in the meds review station:
Patient documentation
Drug history
Allergies, sensitivites and drug reactions.
concordance issues - so make sure if there is polypharmacy, that the patient is managing to remember to take all his/her meds!
Recommendations - made by you (you'll have a BNF there with you)
