I wouldn't put too much into some of the comments here, since a lot of the people who responded to this tread are MedSoc Offs.
To speak the truth, Medsoc is about drinking, a lot of the events listed here were all in the last few weeks of the first year, the only real nonalcohol related medsoc event was paintballing as far as i can remember. The issue that medsoc is very "alcoholic" has been raised very often, but every year they say they will change it but they don't do it in the end anyways.

And freshers is really just about getting pissed if i may say so, even the ice breaker night was just about who can drink the most beers till 10 o clock. :-|

well im sure all of medsoc will disagree now but thats what i think.
If you wanna do other events you pretty much have to organize it urself, there are loads of people who wanna do some kind of stuff but dont find enuff people to really do it (like we had that issue with streetball, until we randomly went to the court and some other medics were there as well, since then we play regulary)


edit: the only reason noone actually knows or sees iceman is coz he's too modest. i mean, he surley doesnt need to buy any food or drinks for 1 or 2 years with all the people owing him "a drink". :P
