Sports clubs and societies at Penisnula?
Hey guys.
This one goes out to all the current PMS students.
What can you tell me about the sports clubs at the medical school? What sort of levels do they cater for?
Also are there any sort of non-sporting societies? Do we do anything like RAG and/or special events and stuff?
Fill me in on all the information please.
Thank you.
Fonzie.

Probably, but I was thinking more Medics specific teams. Although I know Exeter and Plymouth unis have medsocs so maybe they're worth a try.
P.S. Where was everyone today? Why is this subforum always empty? I feel so lonely.

you've got medics football and rugby for both the guys and girls. Regular matches between sites and between other medical schools.
Surf society at Truro.
Then there's the clubs and societies at both Exeter and Plymouth universities which you are free to join.

There is a cricket team in Exeter. Also on the charity side there are loads of PMS things. Here's a few..
Peninsula Marrow is an organisation that signs people up onto the bone marrow register. As a med student you are allowed to help run the clinics. It's great fun as you can take blood and counsel people who come to the clinics to sign up to the register.
Medsim. International orgainisation that has a branch at PMS. There do loads of things from charity events to targeting drug companies.
Student Parliament. you can represent your fellow students and tell PMS about the good and bad points regarding the course.
PUS... peninsula undergrad. surgeons. Great society that puts on talks from surgeons and gives you a surgical slant on anatomy.
I'm sure there's more that I can't think of, as well as different ones in Plymouth.Matt

Fonzie, in terms of standard - very similar to Man City at the moment - more for fun than being really good
