Second choice
Hey,
I'm going to be putting PMS as my first choice as its such a fab med school. However, is there any point putting anything as my 2nd choice.
The PMS offer is either ABB or AAC.
I got an offer from Sheffield which is AAB.
Also I've got an offer for Biomedical science at Southamptom for basically CCC.
I can't put Sheffield as my 2nd choice as its got higher grades than PMS. I don't want to do the biomed sci as I wouldn't really want to do it if there was some reason i messed up my A2s.
I'm thinking of just leaving my 2nd choice blank however it just seems a bit of a waste of an opportunity.
Any ideas???
Thanks guys for ur fab wisdom.

Same problem. I only put PMS down just in case the conputer messed up and I ended up in Brighton.
My biochem offers were lower but I didn't put one as inssurance becasue I don't think I'd be happy there.Peninsula 1st year, Exeter

when i made my choices my second choice (liverpool) was asking for higher grades (AAB) not ABB like peninsula. However i put it down for 2 reasons. 1) i had health clearance there, but not yet at peninsula, so if peninsula had rejected me on health grounds i would have ended up with no medical place. and 2) say i really messed up my exams and had failed to meet either offer, at least i would have 2 unis thinking that i had liked them so maybe open to persuasions or if reapplied there might go in my favour. It ended up i got health clearance and met both offers easily so it was all good. But at the end of the day, i reckon u might as well use the second offer, just in case for some reason something went wrong.... but thats just my 2 cents

Thanks for the advice. I think I will probably put Sheffield as my 2nd choice as I've got nothing to lose.
Kool, thanks.

Probs best to look at it this way- if you dont get the grades for PMS by some fluke then you are obliged to go to your 2nd choice- just ask yourself if you would be happy to go to your 2nd choice and then go from there.

That wouldn't really be a problem as PMS are asking for ABB whereas Sheffield want AAB. So the only reason I would get into Sheffield and not PMS would be due to health or CRB checks going wrong with PMS.
