    Electives

I've been thinking about my elective and what to do and where and just wondered what other med student-parents have done or were thinking about doing. Thanks.

Hi there. I secured a place in Seattle, but got cold feet as didn't want to be so far away from my 2 little ones. Ended up doing 1 month in the Western Isles of Scotland with rural GPs. Hub and Kids came to visit too - ideal as it was the setting for Balamory and they loved it. Then did 1 month back at in Bristol doing ITU. Glad I made that choice in the end but it is a personal decision at the end of the day. Where are you thinking of going?

hey, thanks for taking the time to reply. I haven't really decided on anywhere yet and i have a while to go first but i was interested to see what other parents did. I hadn't thought about spliting it and doing 2 placements, that may work very well as my husband/children would be able to come for a few weeks so thanks for suggesting that.
    best wishes,
    tinsel
