    Any parents at Newcastle?

I'm starting this year and wanted to know if anyone here is a parent at Newcastle (or about to start).

I'm not a parent, but take a look at the union website - stuff like The Union Society, Newcastle Univeristy Students' Union | Student Advice Centre | U.N.C.L.E should be good for you.

    fingers crossed

ok its still not definate, I have an interview on the 3rd of July and would be doing the foundation year then progression onto the 5 yr course in 09 so I wouldnt be in the same year but its positive that there are others there that are parents. Will u be at Durham or Newcastle? Are u staying in student family accomodation, or private? Have u not heard of anyone else studying at Newc with children? Sorry maybe too many questions!

I am not a grad as Ive worked (in healthcare) since leaving school its only since having the littlen that I have been able to re evaluate goals.

So fingers crossed for my interview next thursday.

Congrats on your place! Will you stay in Durham after your foundation year? How old is yours? I'm in Newcastle for the 5 year (so glad not the 4 year, even though I'm a grad), but as my husband didn't find a job there I'm moving without him and taking the little one with me. So I'm pretty scared, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Trying to get into student family accommodation, but the accommodation people have not been very helpful at all. So on edge of seat, biting nails, waiting to hear if we got in - never knew how important accommodation could be until I had to face it thinking like a single mum!

Smile trials and tribulations as a mum

Nola - so sorry I wasnt aware of ur reply until now - had no time to do anything. My daughter is 2yrs old. How old is urs. How are u finding med school. I am doin well but its real tough loads of yrs since i have done chemistry.
I feel really lonely at the moment as i am away from home 200 miles and stuck in with lil one at night. Sometimes i find motivation is hard as there is no-one supporting me. Well we all have our issues i just hope i can resolve this issue. I have friends at uni but i have to decline going out as there is no-one to look after jessica.
    Hope u are doing well

    Hey, Dawn
Sounds like you're in a similar situation to me. Never a break! Mine is 17 months. I'm passing everything so far, so must not be doing too bad! Hope things get better - I will admit I find med school a little bit easier than I thought it would be. I shouldn't say that because it's probably going to make it 10x worse! You can email me at lijah_17@hotmail.com if you just want to vent!
