No 'cos she's keeping me company at SGUL

Platypus, I didn't realise we were in the same position - my two are currently 4 and 2 and will be 5 and nearly 3 when I start at SGUL this September. My daughter (the 4 year old) understands that mummy is going to be a doctor but I haven't really tried discussing it with my 2 year old son. Really looking forward to meeting you! What's your background? I'm a 33 year old ex IT consultant with a French & Computing degree. Have recently realised that my first freshers' week was 15 years before this September's one and I'm really not sure I'm up to an entire freshers' fortnight!

Ellen - how's the pregnancy going? Hope the morning sickness isn't too bad. Unlike Platypus and Pookymum, I never yearned for a 3rd as I really do not do pregnancy well - moderate morning sickness the whole way through and SPD as well for fun. I even had my mum lined up to remind me what I felt like in case I got broody but fortunately that hasn't happened.

Montreux i didn't know you'd got in to SGUL. Congrats! I'm jealous that you will have other mums on the course with you, i am the only mum on my course and it winds me up when no one understands what i have to struggle with. They moan about lectures being too early etc when i have to travel more than one and a half hours to get in (today we started at 8am and i had to get my mum to sleep at mine so she could get the kids to the childminder) and they live down the road. Oh well i musn't moan.

We really should have a medicmums meeting sometime and compare notes!
I'm 34, ex advertising exec (with science background) stay at home mum of 2. Would really like to talk to other mums at Kings to find out a little more about what to expect (although other students have been really forthcoming with info, would be nice to hear some mum's views).

I'm a mum too, pookymum. Not at King's yet, but really hoping to be, though on the 5 year, not the GEP. Could still support each other though, if you like.

But I've got to get a place first!

I'm 37, daughters aged 7 and 5. I used to work in market research. I've got a degree in English, currently doing bio and chem AS courses and will stay to do the A2s next year. That's assuming I don't get an offer for the Barts 5 year, which I was interviewed for on 21st Jan.

Hi guys! Just checking back in with y'all. I'm 26 weeks now, and starting to look like I've swallowed my birthing ball!!

Am going to Open Days at Mcr and Leeds next week, and Sheffield in August. Bet they'll just LOVE me.
