I'm afraid I think it's something that develops when you become a parent.

I keep telling myself, being a Doctor will give my son a better future. As I will have a good steady job, which will eventually pay off! That's after I pay off my student loans

I've had endless guilt trips about the kids. Even leaving them with their nanny so I can go and have a browse around the shops without them throwing tantrums around me, leaves me feeling guilty  . It's crazy really, because in actual fact they love it when I'm not around beacuse they get to do what they like  !!! Whenever I get back home I imagine they might be upset with me about leaving them, but often they want me to go back out again so that they can continue to wreck the house  !!!

A really cool health visitor friend of mine always used to tell me, "Happy mums make happy kids". I think she's right  .

    I agree with that statement!

I must admit, I do not feel guilty when I leave my son, as I spend 24/7 with him, so When I do take time out for a couple of hours, I make sure I enjoy myself!

However, if I were to leave him for a long time, I think that's when the guilt would kick in! That's why my Husband and my Son are going to come where ever I do. However, I'm lucky and realise that's not the case for everyone.

I have always worked and the boys have had various people to collect them from school etc.. I used to feel guilty about all of that but when I ask them what they remember about it they have forgotten!! All the angst about the right lady to pick them up, seat belts in her car, the right kind of snack when they got to her houe, the right amount of tv etc etc... and they don't remember it!!! aaaaagh
