    Help!

Hi there. I'm a third year at Glasgow and I am thinking that I would like to do Paeds in the future. I was speaking to a friend of mine and they said that I would have to intercalate if I wanted to have any chance of getting into this speciality. Is this true? We are offered the chance of intercalating at the end of this year and it has never been something that has appealed to me, but I don't want to make the wrong decision now and regret it in the future.

    Any advice would be great!

No definitely not. Know of lots of people in paeds who havent intercalated. Like all specialties, may increase you chances of getting a job because you have something that not everybody does. But dont do it if you dont want to because you wont do it well.
