I am applying to Oxford as well (open application). I first felt like I was "wasting a space", but at least even if I don't get in, I'll never have the regret of never even applying and giving it a shot.
BMAT preparation is not TOO lame. You can definitely prepare more than you can for the UKCAT. However, there aren't too many mock exams out there. I've heard they don't let out past papers because many questions tend to repeat from previous exams. I'm kind of more overwhelmed with the Science portion because I haven't done GCSE/A Levels curriculum.
How's your preparation going?

my enquiries email dated months ago:
"There is in principle a quota, set by the UK Government, which governs the maximum number of overseas students that may be admitted to the medical school as a whole. In practice this quota has not yet been a limiting factor in admissions to the graduate-entry course. "
confusing huh? I think my "7" came from total intake*7% (should be), so you might be right. 2 places- lol that's disconcerting.

I'd say almost impossible. But I do know of a girl from my undergrad who got into GEP medicine at Oxford as an international applicant. I want an interview and from there, at least I know they see me in person. We shall see. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
What about you? What are your plan B, if medicine is not an option? I will definitely to a doctorate at that point...

for me, either integrated MB PhD or PhD alone. I am more onto the science rather than wanting to become a pure doctor. Plus I am more confident in securing a PhD position than a place in medical school lol.
I am now preparing materials for PhD applications...
another round of self-mutilation.

mostly here in UK, not too sure whether I will apply to US though (I have spotted a few labs in Hopkins but they all have problems funding internationals). If I do have the time for the stupid GRE, then I might consider applying to a few. If not, I will apply to UK-based labs. The US system is different too (1st and 2nd year PhDs taking classes and courseworks??!!), which makes things complicated.

Hey thought i'd make a post
i'm applying Oxford GEP with an open application. Same feeling as everyone else about possibly making a "wasted application" but it seems they do let people in occasionally so maybe it could be some of us
Bit worried coz my standard grade results are beautiful but worthless and my higher and adv higher were probably not up to parr. And my PS is just ok....oh no WHAT HAVE I DONE?!
Good luck everyone!imperial grad medic
