Another thread for all those who got offers!
So kamon ppl, this isn't gna make you look arrogant or nething...why dyu think u got offers in Oxford? Was it past achievements...positions in school...performance at interview...questions extremely well answered...or on the other side...ne1 mess up a sciency(one Im dreadin) or genral interview reli badly but still got an offer? Id love to know how big a chance ive got...at mo, im Headgirl at school and also been predicted AAA...hopefuli ok references...done quite a bit of work experience..got 3 part time jobs...what chances would you reckon i have? Am only doin 3 a levels tho...apparently they pick up on the one you've dropped and ask awkward questions such as you should be able to manage your time well enough to have carried on with it?
Also, in regards to the sciency interview, do ppl suggest I revise my AS bio bfore interview? Am soo worried about that.
Thanks for ne help ppl, and well done to those who got offers and even to those who missed out (at least by applyn to Oxford, u know u were good nuf to be considered!)....doz who just mist out, why dyu think it was? Kamon ppl...*share* lol its like a group counselling session
Thank u v much for all your help!

"apparently they pick up on the one you've dropped and ask awkward questions such as you should be able to manage your time well enough to have carried on with it?" - I dropped Maths, and the only question that was vaguely mathematical was something along the lines of being able to do: 0.001 * 0.1.

Regarding biology, if you think you need to revise biology, I would revise biology. The fact that you are asking, says that you are worried about it.
To tell you the truth I don't know why I was given an offer, it could have been for many reasons. it also depends on your interviewers, because they are looking for some one that they would like to teach for a good many years.
Being successful is about having a mixture of academic ability, extra-curricular stuff and lots of luck!

my power dressing is second to none.

& more objectively - my college ranking was top 5, thus they thought they had to grudgingly give me an offer? lol
said ranking was mostly boosted by my ranks in the non-sciencey interview & the verbal part of the OMAT. & my sciencey parts of OMAT & sciencey interviews were above average, but not amazing... so choosing a college that interviews in a way you think'll suit you might be beneficial - that said i had no idea till they wrote & told us! but colleges that do 2 as standard might tend to have a science & none science interview. & in our sciencey one we chose the topic we discussed - yay.
oh & unfortunately methinks The Messiah was in a much stronger 'token' position than being Asian would make you.. though out of interest on this note (which has come up before elsewhere on here!) anyone know the group % of UK population & i'll do some fancy statistical anaylsis (i.e. guesstimate the faces on my year cohort photo, hah). because as to representation - think i'd predict asian medical students to be way above that you might predict from population numbers alone. although apparently the issue is more % of students getting AAA & not even applying... </tangent>

How did you find out all this about your ranking etc., elles? Your inside knowledge is sometimes scary.
