Interested in a career as an ENT surgeon.
Hi all,
I'm a graduate student applying to GEP programs in the U.K.
As a pre-med, I undertook a surgical internship and most enjoyed ENT surgery, and shadowed a great ENT surgeon, getting as much O.R. time as I could during thyroidectomies etc.
One aspect of the field that also appealed to me was superficial facial reconstruction (i.e. not mxf) bordering on plastic surgery. I was wondering whether in the U.K. a surgeon can specialize in ENT as well as Facial Plastic Surgery?
Any advice on how to try and secure a career in ENT surgery from the very start would be very helpful to me. Thanks!

Hey Iknes,
To answer the question i refer to the following link: RoyalCollegeOfSurgeonsI was wondering whether in the U.K. a surgeon can specialize in ENT as well as Facial Plastic Surgery?
Here it states that facial plastics is a subspecialty of ENT, so you will train in ENT surgery and then specialise in plastics.
hope this helps,
james
