Well Nik, I'm sure you get my point... I don't think I'd be as attracted to the male anatomy as I am now if my first experience was a 90 year old's with a bad infection, as opposed to its beauty in its glorious state on a well endowed man in his twenties...

Having said that, I've opted for a male ob/gyn for both my babies and didn't regret it at all. And I don't have a problem facing him in public places, I'll give him a kiss whether we see each other at starbucks or in his surgery right before a pap test...

No, no you misunderstand. I was referring to the first bit of the quote. Telling you to think about what situation a man might have been having a sex life yet never seen a vagina

And although I'm a completely straight heterosexual I can see what you're saying about the penis and ....infected vagina thing.
But surely you'll get an equal distribution of young men and women coming in for crotchal examinations? Not just young men with massive penises and old women with infections? Infact, I guess you're less likely to see men as women have them scheduled from 16 onwards (I think) where as men only come in when they've got something wrong with them.
I don't know of any of my mates that simply go to the Docs to show off their massive penises ....not that I would know if any of them had massive penises...but I do know all my female friends have smear tests

I was thinking of homosexual relationships you vile person

Say the joke....oh and say Vagina too.
Unless you're being racist or mean or giving out medical advice there's not much the mods will do to you.
But do and they find your house and burn it down...
While you're here, Simran, you're on Gizmo's list on his weblog as a girl... you said you weren't but now I'm not sure again
Quite the enigma.

On a serious point.. do you think men are ever likely to be a taboo in obs/gyn?
In the past women just havent gone into medicine, especially not a practical speciality like obs/gyn.. perhaps now that women do then men will be seen as redundent.
An example of this being the case is amongst nurses on obs/gyn.. do you ever see a male one? No.. because theres women to do it.

Its a point that one day it could be more of an issue.
I met a guy in a pub who had been hounded off a midwifery course for being a bloke.Second year medic, St-Andrews.
