Just looking for some advice. I'm applying for a foundation post starting next year (August 2006). I'm an Irish graduate and I'm not sure of my order of preference for deaneries yet. I have a strong interest in obstetrics and gynaecology though and I was wondering if there are any deaneries which have a name for good O&G training? Ideally I'd love a foundation post where some of F2 would be spent on an obstetrics attachment but given the fact I'm not a UK med school graduate, I'm afraid my chances of securing such a post are slim...
I'm in exactly the same position at the moment, hoping to apply for 2010 foundation training and I'm very interested in O+G. Can anyone help please? (I don't mind which deanery, just as long as it is well known for excellent O+G training).
O&G training at foundation level is pretty much the same wherever you go. If you have a particular interest in a subspecialty then you might want to apply to a centre that has it but to be honest most of your time will be spent doing the core stuff that happens everywhere. I am in a DGH at present, getting great experience and really loving it. I don't think you need to be in a teaching hospital.
If you are really set on getting a foundation job with O&G in it then it might be sensible to apply for an undersubscribed deanery where the competition for jobs is less intense.

He apologized but I really should have! So far I've only heard about rejections probably means they are giving out their offers later. Imperial was kind of my first choice because it's very good and...
