Found out a few weeks ago that I'm now no.7- I started at no.33, so that's loads of movement. But flippin hell- seven places away from a space! I can hardly believe how close I got.
Fair play to everyone who has got in- they clearly scored/did better than I did. And I'll obviously be reapplying this coming year.
Do feel slightly like screaming though.
A sincere well done to everyone who made it, however Hope to see y'all NEXT year!

That is so close Bad'un - rotten luck - but at least you can feel quite confident for next year. I started number 27 and I found out i got in about 2-3 weeks ago. Have you asked Cathy for an update recently? Maybe you're not 7th any more??

Well, the thing is, when I last rang cathy & she told me I was no.7, she also said that they now have a full roster, so it'd mean people would have to drop out of the course now, which is unlikely- not unheard of though.
She said I'd hear from them if there were any changes to my situation, so I figured I'd stop bugging them.
I check my emails hopefully every day- I even have my victory dance planned.
Ah well. Such is life

Hi bad'un! Not to give you falso hope but I was 2nd when the roster was closed and everyone had made their decisions - then 2 people dropped out within about 2 weeks - I was really surprised - like you I thought it would be very rare - so don't give up hope. And Cathy didn't let me know when i moved up to 1st on the list without me asking her - she only gets in touch if you get in I think, so may be you have moved up a bit.

Haha, nah, joking- that's good to hear, so thanks.
Even if it doesnt happen this year, I've been lucky in getting a position as a healthcare support worker, so I'll still get to work in a hospital for a year which is great.
