If you read the thread... i think most ppl on the list got in... so i honestly would say there is hope!

I read the thread, but I didn't realise that most people on the list had got in, I assumed it was the top half or so. But it's good to know if most did get in after all! I feel a teensy bit better now. Am in total suspense at the moment and can't believe that last year, someone from the waiting list had to wait until August to find out they'd actually gotten in after not hearing anything until then! I reckon I might have heart failure from all the stress if I have to wait that long! (not to mention the fact that I have to make decisions about relocating/ living arrangements/ sort out work etc. if I do miraculously manage to get in, and august doesn't leave much time to do that just before starting the course)

I thought I'd post the latest here too: Just got my Formal letter for the waiting list and it says there are 43 people on the list (rankings aren't given in the letter) and it can take up until August/ Sep/ start of the course to know if a place is given to you or not. (Eek! 43 places on waiting list!?!!)

Well that doesnt sound too hopeful as there are only 91 places, so over half of the poeple offered places need to reject them or fail to meet the requirements for everyone on the list to get in. & that is a long time not to know what you're doing next year. Btw I was just wondering do any of you on the waiting list have any other offers?? If so, due to the news of amount of waiting list places, are you going to take them up? Cause I really dont know what to do now!
    2010 entry:
    Sheffield - interviewed 19/01/10 - rejected
    Warwick - interview 23/03/10 - conditional OFFER - FIRM
Nottingham GEM - interview 22/03/10 - waiting list - withdrawn
    Birmingham GEM - Rejected

    UKCAT average - 695
    GAMSAT - 65
    A levels - AAA
3rd year Human Physiology student - Predicted 1st

I have no other offers. Am a bit worried as most other places have given their offers out so dunno if most ppl who went for interview for notts have it as their fav place. Tbh you have till the 7th of june to make your decision i believe according to ucas so i see no harm in sitting and waiting for the moment - obviously i say this as a person with very few commitments and so able to leave things late!

I don't have any other offers either - only applied to Notts - so am selfishly hoping that all those people who have other offers will take them!! Seems like we are going to have to get used to the waiting....I wonder if we will hear by email if we get any good news, or if track will just be updated?? Email I would guess.....thinking of emailing Cathy Monday to try and find out 100% definate how the list is ranked - if i get an answer I will post it here.

I was planning on doing the same. I understand that the list will fluctuate during the first week or so as people accept offers but it would have been nice to give us some idea by telling us how the list is organised.

I will hold off from emailing her if you plan to so she doesn't get swamped!

So, I emailed Cathy for a definitive answer as t how the waiting list is ranked, and hereis her reply......

'It is ranked by Interview score and GAMSAT, best to wait until you are able to get your waiting list position rather than try to predict it just on GAMSAT, as this is not the case.'

So that clears that up! So basically there is no way to guess where you might be on the list.....oh well, more waiting ahead xx
