Has anyone managed to complete their online interview confirmation of attendance? Mine gets to the page where you are meant to upload a picture of yourself, then after I have accepted the security certificate ( or whatever it is) it says 'Loading Java Applets...' in the box, but never does anything else - it just stayed like that for 2 hours yesterday and I tried again this morning and still the same..................where am i going wrong?????

HI,
just done mine without too much of a problem. Would suggest visiting...
How do I test whether Java is working on my computer?
Making sure it says you have the latest version! Then trying again. If that doesn't work post back and tell me what happens.

Hi no i haven't had mine yet :-(
Anyone who has done this MMI style of interview at SGUL -where all the interviewers in separate rooms? or at separate stations in 1 room? And did you get a gap between the 6 minute sessions were they all immediately after each other?

Hi Laurap486,
At SGUL the MMI's were held with all 8 stations in one room, which was surprising to say the least. I'd love to come out and say that I thought that it was ok etc, but I'm not sure I can. It is probably the most objective and 'fair' way of conducting 300 interviews in such a short time. But to be honest I have ended up thinking that capacity is main concern with MMI, not objective and sound assessment.
One major flaw is that you have no idea who the people are that you are speaking to, and what experience they may have. On a panel interview you are also able to build up some kind of raport with the interviewers, this is most certainly NOT the case with MMI.
I'm going to be a lot better prepared for it this time round, and I think the invitation e-mail from Nott's gives a decent insight into what to expect.
But having said that I thought my SGUL MMI went pretty well so either I was wildly optimistic or I didn't understand it as well as I thought I did!! haha

We've all had an email (AND a post on webct...they clearly don't trust that we read our emails!) saying that you've got your interviews next week and can we please keep the noise down... May I apologise in advance for when I suddenly realise I've forgotten something and swear loudly, or for when I inadvertantly drop something really heavy(i.e. kumar...) on the floor above the room of an interview!
Good luck everybody!Last edited by emj1987; 18-03-2010 at 02:32 AM. Reason: realised i'd put the wrong word... this is what medical school does to you!
