Graduate 5yr and/or 4yr?
Sorry if this question has been answered but my search didn't return anything!
Can you apply as a graduate for both 5yr and 4yr at Notts?
Thanks.

I assume so, but you should ask the admissions tutors. Cathy Porter is the admissions tutor for the GEM course, she's really nice and really helpful too. She'll probably be more help, but from what I remember the entry requirements for the 5 year are really hefty GCSE wise while the GEM course is (this year anyway) 2ii plus decent GAMSAT (easily manageable). Good luck!

Hi hXc,
Might be wrong but from what I've heard they now don't allow graduates to apply for the 5 year course anymore.

The policy has changed - having previously barred graduates from applying for the 5-year programme, Nottingham now allow graduates to apply to both the 4-year and the 5-year version of the BMBS degree. For the 4-year you need minimum of a 2ii and a good enough performance in GAMSAT to get an interview, plus a good enough performance at interview. For the 5-year you need minimum of a 2i, the A-level requirements are not waived (typically AAB), then UKCAT, online questionnaire, etc.
Hope this helps

You can definitely apply for the 5 year course as a graduate; one of my best mates is a graduate (I'm about to start year 2 of 5).

I really would check with the undergrad admissions people first, I'm afraid to say. As I think it's the other way round- that previously graduates can apply to the 5 year course, but for the first time they now can't. As SummerDaisy said, we've got grads in the 5y course at the moment, but I think that's now changed for future years.

Sorry, but you're not correct. By all means contact Martine Lowes if you think it's necessary, but graduates can apply for the 5-year course (for a couple of years they couldn't)

As far as I'm aware one can still apply to both.
Do consider however, the financial implication of studying a 5 year course as a graduate, responsible for fees year 1-4, NHS bursary year 5 only.
On the 4 year fees are paid by DOH for years 2-4(1-4 if from Oxford) and you should qualify for NHS student bursary year 2-4, Student loan for 1-4.
Just some food for thought.
Good luck.Nottingham GEM 2008

Are there any previous grads that have been on the 5 year course?
What A levels/GCSE's did you get in with?
