I read that the University gives out core bursaries according to your household income. Does anybody know if/when we should apply for those? Anybody knows any good websites that offer additional bursaries that can be applied for? Any tips would be much appreciated. I did my first degree in South Africa, so I don't really know how the system works over here.

at the open day, i think the finance guy said that we need to email them when we start. we have to allow the student finance people to share our details with the university aswell so that they can tell whether we get the bursary.

Slight hijacking, but how long did it take people to here from studentfinanceengland? I have sent off all my info and my husband has filled in his bits but we still haven't heard...

When I filled in my form for Student Finance, I think it said that they will get back to you within 6 weeks from the day that you apply.

i know its not the same place - but when i applied to student finance wales they took about a week from the date they received my evidence. that could be because i sent it in so early (early march), they are probably busy now that all the students know where thety are going.
