    Proof of work experience

    Hello,

I'm definitely going to apply to for 2010 entry at Notts and was reading about this online questionnaire that we'll have to fill in and read that we must provide proof of work experience/voluntary work etc.

I'm not asking this because I'll be lying on my UCAS () but do we have to provide references/contact details from both work experience placements as well as voluntary work? Or just work experience placements?

I'm asking this because some of my voluntary placements were ages ago and it's going to take me a while to chase the people up. I'm fine with providing numbers and contact details for work experience placements but the voluntary ones I don't have all the necessary information and doubt they even remember me.

    Any help would be great

Ok when you apply to Nottingham, you get an e-mail asking you to fill in a supplementary questionnaire. On that form, near the bottom is the work experience section, which looks like this:

^ quite a wide picture so not embedded

As you can see, you need to provide Dates, Duration, Contact Name, Address, Telephone, and some Details (ie what you did).
There is space for up to 5 work experiences.

However as far as I know, they do not phone or check or anything, it's just to validate to an extent anything you may have said you've done. e.g. for me one of the work experiences I did was in a french pharmacy - I am fairly sure they didn't phone them up and speak in french to ask them if I was lying or not.

So yer, give the details of the places you did work experience, you may be able to find them online without troubling anyone, and it just makes your story of what work experience you've done, believable.

Also, when it comes to filling in the questionnaire, i recommend printing yourself off a copy / print screening it, before you submit it. You want to know what you've told them when you walk into the interview.

Agreed, I forgot to do this and although it didn't come up, I spent far too much time worrying about it!
