Hi Rich
I thought I recognised you allright, sorry now did not come over to chat, but was a bit unsure if it was actually you; though looking at your picture leaves little doubt. Being on the reserve list is really unpleasant, especially as I was really impressed with the setup at Derby, and by how freindly and genuine all the staff seem.
The Anatomy guy actually was an external examiner and grilled me about ten years ago when I did my other degree in Dublin.
Fingers crossed I'll see you all in September!!

Hey all.
I thought the same, was really nice to meet some familiar names, and also am very happy to discover last year they offered 138 places in all, which bodes well for us waiting list peps !!
the places seems really nice and the staff great, plus no real exams for 18 months so you have time to settle in.
Hope to see you all there, want to check my spelling Rich ? ! ?
Clare xi am going to be a medical student, yay, yay, yay !!!!!!!!

That is an encouraging peice of information North. Did you manage to glean this happy statistic from someone today??
I was impressed by the present students also, and their lack of airs and graces which I have come to expect from my visits to various other medical schools (no names mentioned).
I would really be a very happy chappy to spend 18 monts of my life in that place!!

North your statistics are keeping me going! Really hope lots of people start rejecting Nottingham now - I was at the open day too and really liked the place! Nothing really to criticise apart from the lack of dissection in the anatomy teaching. Everyone I met was really friendly too. Really really hope the offer comes soon!
Fingers crossed for all on the reserve list!

Hi All!
Yep, I really enjoyed the Open Day yesterday! It was great to meet so many people from so many different backgrounds and all were so friendly! Rich, good to have met you as well (wasn't that difficult to recognise each other! ). I hope all on the waiting list would get a place this year like last! Ciao everyone! See you in September!

I've accepted my offer from Nottingham now (sorry guys who are on the reserve list). It would be great if all you guys on the reserve list make it on. I'm a bit confused how them making 138 offers last year is a good thing for those on the waiting list ? The fact that there were only 80 at the open day is definitely a good sign though. If you were considering going to Nottm why would you not go to the open day? I reckon a lot of people have already decided they're going to St Georges so didn't bother travelling up.
One thing I was impressed by on Saturday was that everyone I met was friendly and could hold a conversation well. I'm sure that bodes well for when we all start in September. If I'm honest (and I know it's unusual to be a bit nasty on this forum) I only met one guy yesterday who I didn't particularly warm to. I think he's going to St Georges though
You can have him on your course Delilah!!
Very good to be able to put some faces to some names.

I'm sure there aren't many of us, but one reason might be forthcoming Finals! Also it was my birthday : ) Was disappointed not to go, but really couldn't spare the time having spent much of the last year working on getting a medschool place rather than completing a history degree...

Good point Jasonh. Hope the work is going well. Are you going to accept Nottm then?
Happy Birthday by the way.
Glad you like the new piccie my cats, they seem to have a fascination with the keyboard. They particularly like sleeping on the keyboard when I'm trying to type :?
