    NHS bursary and student loan?

I know it's early days but I was wondering if a 4th or 5th year Nottingham medic could tell me the max NHS bursary and student loan we are entitled to in our 5th year? I understand we get an additional £80 per week if the course lasts over 30 weeks (how many weeks is the 5th year?), and the loan we can apply for from Student Finance is the non-means tested final year loan. I have been trying to research how much we can get but can't find actual figures.

Oh well obviously it's a question that can't be answered and those who can are probably revising for their exams next week. I will just have to take a guess

Have had the realisation that my minischule knowledge of Obs and Gynae really is tiny and exams next week won't change that... (And I'm very tired now.) So looking forward to a Christmas without exams to prepare for (such a novelty!).

Also found the relevant bits of paper.

    For 2008/2009
    Bursary
    Basic award £2,483.00
    Extra weeks allowance £1,760.00
    Older Students allowance £1,485.00

    Total £5,728.00

(I don't get parental contribution for being an older student and I'm unmarried and not living with anyone, so I don't get a spouse contribution deducted.)

Not sure about childcare costs and arrangements, but I think that you're the expert on this one anyhow.

    Student loan
    £2265.00 made in 3 instalments.

Just under £8,000 seems quite a lot, but it all seems to go somehow...

    Hope that this helps.
