I have come across many dr.s who make such errors, which can irritate I appreciate.
But what really matters is whether you can understand what they write in notes.
And that they get the medical decisions right.

All the docs I know who are working as f1s now get some banding. Purely anecdotal I know.
I remember reading info referring to some deaneries that suggested that banding would have to used for some posts due to shortages in service provision.
So basically count on the basic, but look carefully at the contract and contact your preferred union/lawyer for advice if you think banding should be applied to your jobs but isn't. This seems likely to hold true for the next year at least.
Any F1s or others who can shed some more light on this isssue?Live the dream!

I thought the actual people who know and arent just guessing on here last said that many of the 20-50% bandings are EWTD compliant.
But - i have also heard that many trusts want to phase out banding. Saves money you see.
So maybe a mixture of the two?Fresher medic*, doesn't know any medicine. Slight issue.¬

Well, in the regions that I am familiar with, there are NO plans to phase out banding. Most Trusts have managed to introduce seemingly compliant rotas - if there were enough people to fill all the slots on the rota. Whether they actually turn out to be compliant is, perhaps, a different matter.
If you want a banded job, apply to hospitals were posts are currently banded for most rotations. Some unbanded rotations (e.g. FY1/2 GP, academic, pathology) can actually turn into banded posts as you may sometimes be asked to join one of the rotas.
Oddly (not!), hospitals do need some Drs out of hours. I would not expect banding to be phased out much further than it already has been."The greater the ignorance the greater the dogmatism" (Sir William Osler)
