Also, im applying Southampton and havent been there either...
i feel unhappy that you cannatvisit these places afore you apply. i wuz in that position when i wuz little (apart from teeside poly and durham uni, which were up the road anyway. Although i neva went to em, i clearly benefitted from visiting durham cos it motivated me to study for ma old A lvls cos it wuz so pretty and green and cobblesque. i clearly remember bombing up to durham city in me dad's Rascal van at 70 mile an 'our when i shudda been out delivering groceries hehe. and thats no mean feat, considering 'ow a li'l Rascal van's top speed on the level is only about 55mph heheh! and the brakes fail to wurk abuv 60mph.. it wuz worth the risk mind...)
it 'elps motivate you if you arer able to apply to places you like, rather than decisions based random choices as far as location is concerned.

i wuld sincerely recommend looking for places that you wil find comfortable being at for five years, or else it destroys most of your reason for applying and you wont be motivated to get there anyway.

    look afore you apply, aye.

i dont fink anyone is saying that. i duno where that came from, in fact. wat do you mean, macca? perhaps i am missing summat and you mean summat more intricate...?
if you mean how that reads then its nonsensical you see.

Samie went to open daze afore applying, just not to lincoln, cos he applied there later than the 15th october deadline, its plain to see.

no, i dnt mean that...it jus looks good in the interview that u have bothered to research and look at the uni un all. i my soton interview they asked if i been on an open day. but in my durham interview thy didnt. and my back-up, pharmacy, when i wnt to the interview they didnt ask. it jus with the nottingham, it probaky made me stand out to an exten cause i spent time at nottingham to see the uni. dnt think any one here went to medlink except me, so u aint at a disadvantage.

qye, after all where is the motivation to apply to somewhere when you know nuffing about it?
wiffout researching your community you are gonna be in it wuld be like sticking a tail on a donkey blindfold...

then again one mite use league tables or similar nonsense to motivate you ....but thats like a false promise....you really need to know that wat you are aiming for in your choice of med skool is summat you want, not sum image you been sold.

    hi,
Anyone applying this year got their supplementary form? Seems all my freinds are getting offers for their choosen degrees n im hearing nothing from all 6 lol maybe no news is good news. Im just hoping I fit into 2 of the categories aka my whole family has never been to uni, and I come from a school which has no experience in dealing with people with learning disablities so alot of things have gone wrong. Being told that I shouldnt be in the school im in because im a bit slow is one of the more funny comments lol plus never got my extra time even tho im ment to have it but according to my school i am the first to pass the enterance test aka by passing the system just hoping that is a disadavantage enough hmmmmm. Good luck every one applying!

I had interviews at both lincoln and southampton for BM6 and they both asked if I had visited the place before. I would really recommend going to see them before interview so that it gives you something to expand on in the interview. I said about going to medlink as well at lincoln and was asked what I thought of it! Had to find something like educationally positive about it to went on about it being good at giving me an insight into different specialities!
If anyone has any questions about either interview then don't hesitate to ask me! Am at southampton now so will be able to help more iwth that than Lincoln/Nottingham course!
    Good luck all!

What do they focus on on your personal statement? Or do they pick out random things

wooohoo ok i've finally finished filling in the supplementary application form and i'm sending it off in a few hours

    BIG PROBLEM though!

was wondering if anyone who applied before could help me...

so i typed up all my answers on word first before writing them into the form by hand.

this is, when i typed it in word it didnt seem THAT much...but now that i've written it in the form....i've had to attach quite a few bits of paper because the tiny little box isn't enough for me to fit my answers in

is this really bad? i mean, do they expect us to give the answer in only the box provided and no more? because i've written quite a bit more! will i be penalised in any way?

ooh i hope they dont mind that i've paperclipped a few pages on the form!
