Yes, I've got a cousin going to the uni at the moment so I'm gonna crash at his for a few days and see round the city.

I'm sure it'll not be quite as nice as the travelodge though lol.

Good luck for Newcastle anyway and if you see me around on the day please say hi, it'd be nice to bump into a fellow forumer - I'm female, indian, will most probably be wearing a dark pinstripe suit and blue shirt

Hey, does anybody have any figures as to how many people are interviewed for the GEP?

    Isn't the intake only 25?

I think last year they had about 800 applicants and interviewed about 120ish. Think they typically make about 40 offers - there's about 35 of us on the course this year, and think there were about 30 the year before. So once you get to interview stage, you've about a 1 in 3 to 1 in 4 chance of getting an offer.

Hope that helps, good luck to everyone with the interviews!

Still wish it was less than 1 in 3 - 1 in 2 would be better !!!!!

If I were you I would plan to get there the day before in case there are difficulties caused by the snow. Not sure they would be that understanding if you missed the interview due to the snow, as everyone yesterday made it, even with cancelled trains and things. Just think of it as showing your commitment to medicine! Seriously though - just make sure you check the trains carefully before you go, as yesterday there were a few cancellations and quite a lot of delays.
