    advice needed asap thanks

    HI

Right currently i am just starting my 3rd year of a 4 year Masters of pharmacy degree, however i think i want to be a doctor!!! ahhh why didint i no this 3 years ago lol

If i leave my pharmacy degree after 3 years i cab get a bsc in pharmaceutical science, does anyone no if this weill be accepted by newcastle to do a 4 year accelerated degree.

Or would i be best waiting until i finish the 4th year and apply with a MPharm degree, i really had better decide quick as deadline is shortly.

I would prefer the 4 year as the financial incentives are huge especially for someone who already has student debt.

Anyone here from newcastle on the 4 year course, got any info about how demanding the 1st year is

I think you would be best off talking to either the medical faculty Undergraduate Office, or the accelerated programme leaders directly. The contact details are here , but if you are already in Newcastle I think I'd be inclined to just go to the medical school and ask them on Monday.
Having read the requirements you should be ok with a BSc I think... Still best to ask though.

Accelerated Programme course outline is here if that helps.

cheers i think the best thing would be just to ask the powers that be who decide on the admissions.

Have to give it some series thought becasuse it a long time at uni raising debt especially as i will have already been through it once already by then.

I read that on the 4 year course no fees are paid in year 2,3 and 4! could anyone confirm this is true? 9k is a big saving

On four year courses you are elligible for a bursary from the DoH in years 2, 3 and 4, which will cover your tuition fees as well.

    cheers guys, big help

let me get my head around this all then.

Someone on the 4 year grad programme in the 1st year fits the 1st 2 years of the normal 5 year programme into 1?

After the 1st year you join up with year 3 or the normal programme? then after that you stay witht them?

I want to be a GP so i would finish the 4 years then do 1 year PRHO, then how long after that until you can become a GP?

Just trying to work out how old id be when i get where i want to be haha

For GP I think it's 3 years post registration, but of course this will change because of the foundation programme. I don't think anyone knows what going to happen when you finish that yet.
