Im not sure about America. In the UK, you have to do loads of medical research (in Neurology) and be appointed a professer by the university you're attached too.
Applying for 2011 Medicine - 3rd time lucky

    Warwick (4 Yr) - 22nd March - Pending
    Barts (4 Yr) - Rejection (2770 UKCAT cutoff :O)
    Barts (5 Yr) - Interview (27th Jan) - Offer
Kings (5 Yr) - Nothing yet - Interview offer - Withdrawn

    UKCAT 690
