Hi, I'm 16 years old and I am thinking of applying to study medicine. My dad suffered a brain injury a few years ago and since then I have been interested in the field of neurology. I am now looking to read around the area.
Recently I asked my dads psychiatrist if he could recommend any book for me to read to give me a better understanding of neurology, he recommeneded a book called 'The Fundamentals of Psychopharmacology' by Brian E. Leonard.
I then talked to my school's psycology teacher, he recommended a book called 'Toxic Psychiatry' by Peter Breggin to give me a different point of view of the field of neurology.
I am thinking of ordering these books from Amazon in the next few days, and I am wondering if anyone has read these book and could tell me a litle more about them. Alternativly can anyone else recommend any other book that they think would be appropiate.
hi there I'm also interested in Neurology - I wonder if you've read these books already and could you let us know how you found them? I would also recommend, for some lighter reading, anything by Oliver Sacks (esp the man who mistook his wife for a hat). It's not too expensive and introduces you to some interesting cases.
Rejection here too :( fairly gutted. Thought my interview was ok. My interview was back in November and cos of the long wait I got my hopes up that I actually had a chance... Just southampton to hear...
They must just give out the rejections first and then the offers.
Good luck for Warwick! I only have Bristol left and doubt I'll get in so probably will be applying again
Yes I thought the odds were approx 2:1 which is good but my interview didn't go very well. I was hoping that an excellent reference from my boss would have saved it but I guess it didn't (and that's...
