Sim. Glad to hear you're on the verge of becoming a fellow Emmanuelian! I was in Oxford today checking out colleges - am applying for the graduate entry programme so, no, I won't be there for 6 years, just (just?) 4. Anyhow, things to take: 1) A throw or something to put over the occasionally dreary furniture 2) A pot-plant 3) A couple of funky Ikea/Habitat lamps 4) Not sure if you drink, but some cava or wine to welcome your fellow freshers will no doubt go down v. well. These should stand you in very good stead and mark you out as a more refined fresher!!! Don't stress though - you get pretty much everything else in town. The Grafton Centre is more pikey but has some different shops and if you can trek to the beehive there's some big super-store type shops to pick up even cheaper bargains.
