mate, i wrote so much bollocks on my statement, it even makes me sick...i would strongly advocate lying on the PS. do you knwo why? because i think that work experience, interests, extracurricular stuff, passion, motivation, personality and all that other shit is COMPLET SHIT WITH NO USE OR RELEVANCE TO WHAT WOULD MAKE A GOOD DOCTOR!!! A good doctro does not need these stupid criteria!! seriously man, i think its a good thing you have lied, honest, i mean, who doesnt???? and ur comments was jokes man, bare standard i swear deep down, proper sick up!! i mean, what sort of human is capable of telling the complete truth on their PS? how many applicants have written statements which are 100% true?? NONE!!!!

    hey,

my secret wasnt outstanding GCSE's or nething - i only have 6, and none of them are A*'s. Im not an olympic athlete, i was never a prefect etc etc. I guess i used my PS to portray what i learnt from my experiences - both work exp and vol, and because it was reflective and a bit different - but still full of info, i got to interview. And i guess at interview i was creative with my answers, allowing them to see a bit of humor (not too much though, i have a foul sense of humor) - and to see i was well balanced, creative, interested in people - and bright enough to succeed academically.

what stage are you at ? are you writing ur ps ? or have you applied already? if i can help, i will - just ask.

    N

ps. sorry for serious delay in replying, been afk for a few weeks

Well, I mean I had an average of about 580 in the UKCAT for various reasons such as illness, one of my parents died around the time I took it and I also arrived late and was treat pretty badly by the people running it. So not exactly what I was hoping for.

Since Manchester was the only uni I applied to that didn't look at UKCAT then I guess the rest turned me down because of that. At the time I was under the impression that 600+ score was good so I guessed my grades would make up for my relatively poor UKCAT score... I guess they didn't.

Awful UKCAT scores is what I pinned the blame on.
