  1. Sorry--I am now based in the U.S., so I'm not the best person to help. Try posting in the ophthalmology thread on this forum.

The best start would be the GMC website: http://www.gmc-uk.org/information_fo...imgs/index.asp which details credentialing for foreign medical doctors wishing to practice in the U.K.

Off the record, I can tell you that the U.K. has traditionally granted U.S. and Canadian academic physicians hospital privileges through legal loop holes.

Honestly, the onus should lie on your boss. It might be worth telling your boss that the U.K. likes 'the paper trail' and, unlike the U.S. where you can argue your case, you must present the information exactly as they request it. Call the relevant people up: British people tend to be highly efficient at their job.

    Good luck!
  2. Would you know about the process of getting credentialed in the UK for Ophthalmology? I know that it is necessary to apply through PMETB, do these applications have much success? I am in charge of getting my boss credentialed in the UK. He is a well trained (specialization at Harvard) surgeon with much experience. It seems like it shouldn't be too difficult, I am just worried about including enough documentation so that they recognize his expertise. The wording for all of the forms can be a bit confusing as well, I just want to be doing things correctly. If you have any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
