Apparently they show you a video at the beginning of the interview of a patient and expect you to analyse it. I'm not sure what the video is about as I wasn't called for an interview last year.

Also they set a definite cut-off score and every year which they increase it. Actually I'm also applying to Barts this year. They start calling people for interviews from January.

Let me know when you get called for an interview there!

Yes I also thought that Kings looked at every aspect of the UCAS application...according to their prospectus. But I don't think it is true, according to my own and my firends experience. They only look at a very small proportion of personal statements. That's just what I think, its ur choice really. Check their forum too to get an idea.

The questions in the St George's interview were easy, its just that my nerves came in the way. There weren't any science type questions. Just types of questions that will help them know a bit more abt you typ questions . Like how you work in a team, why you want to be a doc...
They interview everyone (with 8As) so be really prepared.

I really don't like what the UKCAT company did.
Oh well. Its just 1 Gap yr, which many people take on purpose.

Hi!! Sorry, there's something wrong with my 'messages box' so I'm having to post u a message on ur profile.

I got the exact same grades in the exact same subjects as you!

I would be a bit careful abt St George's, they interview everyone. I applied there last yr with lots of interview practice and still gt rejected. Actually I think I went too nervous then.

Kings look at ur UKCAT score very carefully and u need to make sure that ur in the top 29% (need an UKCAT av. of abt 680, according to what I've seen in their forum). I gt straight rejections (Imperial, Kings, St Georges and Barts) because my UKCAT average went down (670 to 593 (below av.!))after they took out the abstract section. That's the real reason for my straight rejections, I got called for only one interview! If you don't mind me asking (u don't have to answer this), what was the reason for ur rejection last yr. I can see that ur scores are excellent too.

Your score is 650, which is great but Kings are really irritating with their cut-off score, so be a bit careful. This isn't a definite cut-off score but its my estimate. Also they do look at a few personal statements for people with UKCAT scores of less than this.

Now I'm trying Barts, King's, Newcastle and Southampton (with 752.5). I'm also going to take an interview practice session with a company to boost up my confidence.

What are u doing for ur Gap yr? I'm having to work as a Healthcare assistant, for at least 5 months, at an elderly home.. (although its not the best job admittedly) then I'll be doing some volunteering.

Madelene (Sp?) was the one I really liked, but I know how ridiculously small my chances are of getting in...but I fell in love with the place so I may as well give it a go!
That's loads of work exp, you'll look great with all that on your p.s!
I've just done carriage driving for disabled and girl guides for two years then a week shadowing doctor...hope this is enough really!
What other med schools are you applying to for next Sept?

yeah, though i'm not being very optimistic as even with absolutely everything, there's seemingly no guarantee on getting in- but i will keep trying! what did you do for gap year?
