Hi Wayne, the funding I was referring to is provided by SAAS. I'm not 100% sure but I believe every student will have 7 years study fees covered by SAAS and any years over this will have to be covered by the student. Hence, if you undertake a BioMed degree for 4 years it would leave you three to use on medicine.

There are other variables though, the NHS pays the last 2-3 years of your clinical training fees, so you save a few years there.

So it really depends on your starting point and circumstances; other than official government loans there are bursary funds at each university for students who may be struggling.

Overall, the funding is weird....... It depends where you come from, who you live with and how much your parents earn if you're under 25 etc.....

The best advice I can give you is to call your Student Awards Agency and get a full workdown of what you would be eligible for.
