ahha that would be telling! But i'm staying in west of scotland anyway.most do tend to stay but alot go home to N. Ireland or try somewhere new in the UK. Similar to the English system? there isn't one!!! Its a national programme that occurs throughout the UK including all countries, so you rank where you want to go throughout the UK.... ....YIp you are a tiny bit ahead of yourself!
hey, first things first you need to get onto the Glasgow uni website http://www.gla.ac.uk/faculties/medic...tudy/medicine/ I would look at the programme and leaflet. Lectures - yeah we do get some, from what I remember around three a week in first year.. You do PBL and learn from 'cells to society' meaning you look at things in an holistic way, covering all angles....its not entirely systems based, but you cover them all eventually. We had lectures, labs, PBLs, Vocational studies sections, practical sessions (suturing BP etc), actor sessions for comm skills, visits to hospitals/hospices/GP practices. In year one you get an exam at the end of the year, coursework (one per block), the MILE (a 24hr PBL which is marked) and the 'community diagnosis' which involves an essay and group presentation - all doable! Any more Q's just ask!
hehehe...I've been sleepin' in a bunch so far. lol Started looking for work though.
Get work as a HCA, do a bunch of voluntary work and take an additional alevel.
Good luck!! BMAT was much better than expected =D Which college did you apply to?
Thankyou! I am indeed! How did you do?
why yes i am thank you... happy christmas to you too
Rubbish lol- I got a rejection becasue of my interview. To tell you the truth I was kind of expecting it: I accidentally insulted the interviewer after I was give a horrid question of "If you love science so much why do you want to be a doctor instead of a laboratory scientist?" I said the whole lack of communication and direct community work , only for the laboratory scientist present to tell me he was "very offended" lol
Yeah I am. 2.1 in History from York.
Pretty hard, could have been better, could have been worse. Just really random questions though, half of it had nothing to do with medicine or even biological science.
