How did you find it? I felt it was a pretty good paper!
Yes! I hate ecology (lol you should've read my comments on it on the night before the exam). I did the Question 3 as well for the Unit 6 exam. I was going to do the other one (4B) but I realised I had some doubt as to whether the xylem carries mineral ions or the phloem. For the Unit 5B question (regarding the cell wall) I put in amylopectin. I don't know why, I just did. At one point I was going to write the middle lamella. LOL
EDIT: Wait! You do Edexcel Biology too? Do you do Human or normal Biology. And how was Unit 5/4 for you? I do the food science option? BTW, do you do Maths as well? I'm on Edexcel syllabus.
You do Nuffield Chem eh? Arguably the hardest chemistry syllabus. That unit 5 food science paper was totally out there. I can't believe they asked so much stuff about Pectin! FRICK! What did you write for the two components of a cell wall other than pectin?
I did the Biochemistry study module for Unit 5. I had a glimpse at the Food Science question before starting and it looked pretty hard. Were my eyes deceiving me? A question on asparagus lol? Yeah I should be off to SGUL, grades pending of course! By the groups you have joined on NMM, am I right to assume that you're going to Imperial? Congrats to you too! How are you feeling about the synoptic for Chemistry? The ligand question in June '08 really was ridiculous. Nuffield sure know how to mess us around with their papers so I'm not really sure what to expect on Thursday. I'll just be glad when it's over though!
Thank you Maryia! Good luck with them too! What syllabus are you on? I'm doing Edexcel (Nuffield) Chemistry and AQA B Biology. I really can't wait until this week is over. Take care, Mena x
