West Ham! Despite our distinctly average season.

Y Real Madrid cuando veo La Liga. ¡Vamos a ganar esta temporada!

ahhh, goo luck macca.

there is in fact an interesting parallel between the mood of ucas medicine applicants and tottenham/west 'am fans over the course of the season/ucas cycle.

august - both are full of ope and aspiration of going to a 'top' uni/winning a Cup and entering the Chumpions League.

september - same opes in spite of mid tabe mediocrity and no mail from your med skools.

November - no change in league position / uni replies yet.

december - wild times/ multi goal thrillers over xmas break when all fear is forgotten!

January - no change in your position come the new year .... but still stoically believing you can win the league / get your 1st choice med skool and go round skool telling your mates so.

February - rejection from 1st choice uni comes in/making Champions League is no longer feasible.... ... generally start avoiding conversations about it wif your mates, or replying wif mysterious ahem/ahas wiffout reiterating your previous opinion.

March - rejection from 2nd choice unis come in /Europe is not even slightly possible. Start avoiding friends who support Manu/ are applying for english lit courses and 'ave got their offers monfs ago.

April - all rejections save one last uni. You are knocked out of all cup competitions apart from the 'Worthless Cup' and begin grimly 'oping that your team dont get relegated come the end of the season

April/May -last rejection come in. :X Knocked out of Worthless Cup. Your mam throw you out the 'ouse if you're an asian, unless you agree to go do biomed sciences thru clearing so that she can pretend you are at med skool. All your best foreign players who promised they were 'tottenham/west 'am thru and thru' last year jump ship to arsenal and chelski post relegation. And Paul Daniels buys out your club.

ope its not so though, macca!

ah, maca, local teams are best.

but if all the medics supported their local team they many of em wuld ave to settle for shite like aldershot and kingstonian.
hehe loads of medics come from soulless places like surrey that dont do soccer.
