As a former GB fencer myself, I prefer the UCL club to the one at ULU, as the emphasis is not solely upon competition. However, that doesn't stop the standard being high - for those who want to compete, the club participates in (and its members win) a variety of domestic and international tournaments.

Incidentally, neither of the clubs at UCL and ULU is purely for medics, though medics do seem to make up a large proportion of the UCL club.
