no offence, but saudis are quite rubbish..... ever since their win against belgium wid al-owarain wondergoal in usa94, they havnt improved...... in fact, gone 4 worse..... and jst like france98, they r gona let down da asian football...... i rather opt for iran..... they can play on their day......

england do hav fairly decent chance of winning if the media stop revolving da whole world around rooney's injury...... is he? isnt he? is he?......... giv it a rest..... da man aint fit n he aint goin nowher

As much as everyone would like to see England lift the WC trophy after 40+ year holiday time - I really dont see this happening.

The flags were all over the place a few years a go, do you guyz recall watching Gabbi something and others on ITV (for WC coverage)? England got thrashed by Brazil (if i remember correctly). Then, came all the excuses of injuries as usual.

It would be nice to reclaim the world cup after such a long period (thats England) - but Brazil are favourites, and the likes of Beckham, and others, frankly, are no match for players such as ronaldinho/ronaldo etc. There is no comparison.

An arab country will do lol, seeing as Iraq somehow didnt qualify, rooting for an Arab country makes me feel somewhat patriotic!

France? Well that would be a beauty!! But as a frenchie myself, I just don't see it. I think they will have learnt something from their shocking performance last time round but maybe not enough to lift the trophy. The middle of the park will provide out strikers with quality balls, I have no doubt but i'm afraid the french are not what they used to be at the back.
Italia campione del mondo di calcio!!! That would be nice and I can see it happening.
Brazil, well some may say that we have seen enough of them but you can't argue the fact that they are just too good up front. Their defence might not be of the caliber of Italy, but they have enough quality to get by. The 3 magicians up front will take care of the rest.
As for the other power houses: Germany, Portugal, Spain (would be nice!), I don't see it. Argentina have got a solid squad this year but I have no idea how they will fair at the back.
As for the African nations, they might lack the experience but this gives other african countries a chance to show what they can do now that the usual suspects (Nigeria, Cameroon) aren't there (Ghana, remember Yeboah?).
Lastly England, not my favorite side but traditionally teams that build squads around 1 player do crap. There is plenty of quality in England, there is simply no need for this much focus on Rooney, it is ruining their chances.

ha ha mr. smarty pants, I'm not your typical Brit so I dont automatically think of India-Pakistan-Bangladesh when I hear Asian! But I agree it is kidna weird - if we were in America, 'Asian' would make us automatically think Chinese-Taiwnese-Japanese etc!
