Yeah what a pile of shite!!! Hundreds of millions of peopl around the world weree looking forward to those 2 games, imagines how pissed off people are right now!
I haven't checked out the French or Brazilian headlines this morning but they are propbably brutally harsh and if they aren't, they damn well should be!Never in a million years would I ever have imagined that I would favour games such as Corea-Togo or Czech-USA or even Iran-Mexico over a French or Brazilian fixture. This feels weird!

yea, it was rather boring and painful at times.... ronaldinho and henry r both under the champions league curse but they'l come out of their shells..... at least henry should...... he is 29 an dis is probably his last world cup......

but the whole french team is relying on zidane's magic n henry's pace and 2 be fair none of them are getting any support......like they did back in 98

in arsenal, henry gets link up support and plyares run off him which creates space for him to exploit the defence....... but in french side rubery has no idea which direction to run in or how to pass.... viera is off form or on cheap drugs.... thuram doest come n support the midfield any more (not his fault, he is not young nemore).... and wiltord is just too damn lazy to sprint!!!!!!!!!!!!

brazil showed glimpses of wot they can do...... but watching ronaldo was really really painful..... at one stage he was a legend, one of the best forward of his generation or any generation for that matter..... but now he is struggling to move around........ really felt sorry for him...... i think its all over for him....... and really hope he doesnt get slaughtered by the media....... farewell ronaldo.... u were the best, no doubt

lets see wot spanish are made up off? dont underestimate ukraine though..... they r like czech..... unknown quantity apart from sheva

Henry at age 29 will definately play in one more world cup, there is no doubt. Most of the top players play at international level well into their 30s just look at the Italians (as an example), Maldini, Baresi, Bergomi, Albertini ...(god there are so many great ones!!!) who all played well into their 30s. Some say that strikers, especially ones that rely on pace have a shorter stint at international level. This may have been true once upon a time but nor anymore.
I agree with your comments on the French side and would just like to add that not only is Wiltord lazy, but he has never belonged at international level. He is the Andy Cole of France, a good player at club level but has no place on a national side.
Ronaldo's issue seems to be his weight. He isn't match fit. I still beleive he has it in him and that he is far from being done but the fitness level doesn't seem to be there. Let's not say farewell just yet.

maldini, brasei, albertini, bergomi, zidane etc.... didnt really rely on their pace

i agree, henry will have another world cup in him.... at 33, he should be ok..... but but... henry's main strength is his instant turn of pace.... rite now he is in peak form, not sure if he'll be able keep up that pace for another 4yrs..... mind u look at cafu.... 34 n still growing strong.... but rite now is the pinicle of henry's career..... french media is just waiting for another scapegoat..... look wot happened to ginola

so, i hope henry sets the world alight in this world cup n shut all his critics up once and for all.... a lil help from his team mates wont go a miss though!!!!

oh yea, he def has it in him... he still is a fierce striker of the ball but with weight issue.... i dont think u can safely lose a stone and half within next couple of weeks n still be match fit.... its all over for him, at least at international stage..... personally, i dont think we'll see him again in 2010..... but i really hope am wrong.... ronaldo is just ronaldo....... he was (perhaps still is) an awsome talent.... but alas, he fell victim of untimily knee injuries n pushy nike branding...... it'l be great if he scores a hat-trick in da next game!!!!

yep......... go england! go england!......... go back home home england! go back home england......... i mean.... go england!

spain played xtrmly well ystrday even though they were quite lucky with few goals and decisons..... their squad looks like they can finally achieve something and most of all they showed hunger n desire even when they were 3-0 up....... how many teams have done that so far?

... BUT BUT.....
they always start wid a bang n den unexpectidly fall against a less fancied side...... it mst be a spanish folk story........ i would like them to do well but i think they'll face frenchies in the next round and go out crying home...... but if they faced south korea....... they should kno wot 2 xpect!!!!!!!!

germans r begining to gel up2..... and i think england should try to avoid em even though on paper, england has by far the better squad.......... but germans r germans!

Go England indeed! It'll be a v interesting match given how well Trinidad+Tobago played Saturday.
What did people think of Spain's opener? I was v impressed with that, as good as I'v ever seen them. And their fourth goal was my personal fave of the tournament so far, wonderful!

JamieP

EDIT: Whoops, just saw the post above came in before I posted this, making this one a bit more redundant! Ah well!...

italia 1..... and 9 medicore americans 1

really really really really really........ disapointed with italian performance..... defensively they were all over the place..... no really creative tenacity in midfield either.... and genuine lack of pace upfront.....

even wen US was down to 9men.... they looked much dangerous than the so-called italian "superstars"...... a lil better display from del piero though... jst a lil..... i dont think that the current italian side is good enough even to progress to the semis, nevermind wining the cup!!!!!!!!!!!!

we have major problems
